Meet the Authors: Roland D. Yeomans

Introducing today's featured author...

Roland D. Yeomans

Brief Bio:
Roland D. Yeomans has been a high school teacher, a family counsellor, and a book store owner. He is now a blood courier due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He has seen his home burn to the ground, the home of his best friend wiped from the face of the earth by a hurricane-spawned tornado. And in the still-flooded streets of post-Katrina New Orleans, he has seen the hollow looks to eyes who only thought they knew what having nothing meant. He has also seen heroism in frail bodies, accomplishing Herculean tasks when the only help in the darkness were their trembling hands and weak bodies.

His short story, It Just Seemed the Thing to Do, will be published in the Stories for Sendai anthology. He is the author of The Bear with Two Shadows and the blog, Writing in the Crosshairs. You can also find him on Twitter and Facebook.

What genres do you write?
Urban fantasies. Historical fantasies. Science Fiction. Mysteries. Noir thrillers. Fables.

What are you currently writing? Sum it up in 10 words or less.
I'm writing the sequel to The Legend of Victor Standish.

What do you do when you're not writing?
I am a rare blood courier, whose duties are explained in my Kindle single, Blood Will Tell.

What is your ultimate goal as a writer?
My ultimate goal as a writer is to grow each day in my craft, becoming better than I was yesterday.

How close are you to achieving this goal?
Like the horizon, my ultimate goal will always loom ahead of me, never to be attained but always giving me a goal to strive for.

What is the single most important piece of advice you can give a fellow writer?
As Winston Churchill said in the world's shortest commencement address: "Never, never, never, never, never, NEVER give up."
